We love our guild, our guildies, and our community. We try as much as humanly possible to keep this a happy, healthy, and safe environment for everyone.
Our Sanctuary[LGBT] is one of the largest Guild Wars 2 communities with an LGBTQIA+ focus. We have many people from many walks of life that span different age groups, gender identities, religions, and sexual preferences. We hope to find unity in the respect that we share among ourselves. If you do not know one's gender identity, it may be safe to use gender neutral (They/Them) pronouns until you are certain of their preference. We also ask that those who possibly get mis-gendered are patient with those who aren't aware and don't mean what they said in any harmful way. With that said, intentional mis-gendering will not be tolerated.
As a sanctuary, people join our community for many reasons. We should all try to have an open mind and accept the various quirks of others. However, if a conversation in guild chat is making you legitimately uncomfortable, you have the right to tell someone to stop or ask them to change the topic. All individuals involved in the conversations should respect this if you have been civil about it. In the spirit of our communal goals, we ask that you do not abuse this process.
We would like everyone to feel safe here; we genuinely want people to coexist with all kinds of other individuals. To help facilitate this coexistence, certain potentially triggering topics will not be tolerated in open guild chat. Some of these topics include religion, rape, details of abuse, offensive slurs, suicidal implications of any kind (Seek professional help, we're a loving and supportive community not your therapists), and politics, but may possibly extend to other topics (if presented as part of a reasonable request). Posts and even jokes pertaining these banned topics will not be permitted either. This includes anything pertaining to a political figure of the present or past of any country. It's three topics, it's not rocket science to avoid them. These topics have been unanimously agreed on by the head council to be sensitive in large crowds. If you do not feel comfortable with publicly speaking up regarding a situation that you did not find acceptable, please do not hesitate to message any member of our leadership team about your concerns in-game, on Enjin, on Facebook, and or Discord.
Discrimination of ANY shape or form has no place here. People should never feel as though they can't be themselves in this guild. A component of this understanding that harassing others you may view as too sensitive usually runs counter to our goal of providing a communal sanctuary. No good comes from belittling others. However, if you feel like someone is abusing the call for a change in topic, please bring it up to the leadership team.
We're aware it's a process, and that there are alot of people here, not all of whom you're going to get to know on a first-name basis. But the same person shouldn't have to repeatedly and unreasonably correct you.
We encourage a civil, humorous and enjoyable environment in our guild. Sexually and explicit topics are permitted here! However, these should not be the focus of every conversation you have in public chat. We do have other channels available (via Discord) where conversations do not have to be as mild.
We shouldn't have to go over slurs in this guild; as a member or ally of the LGBTQIA+ community you should know what slurs are not tolerated here. This is not elementary school; you have access to the internet. Look it up.
COMMUNITY & PRIDE:
We'd like to be a presence of some positivity and integrity within the world of Guild Wars 2. Our members play with other friends, our guild connects and interacts with allied guilds, and our tag will be seen by random members of the game at large. We hope that you bear this in mind and show the same courtesy to non-guildies as you would your own guild members. People talk and word travels fast; If you're an angel in guild functions and an ass-hat to the people outside of the guild, then this may not be the place for you.
DISCORD AND PROTOCOL:
The regulations for voice chat and Discord text chat are quite similar to these rules. Certain aspects of this may differ depending on the topic of the channel however. If there's a conversation in voice chat that you did not find acceptable then you need to inform us so we can keep an eye on who to watch and what to regulate. We need to know these things so we can handle matters and situations to the best of our ability.
In the event that someone brings something in discord chat that could be potentially out of line or unhealthy to the guild environment the content may be removed along with any other member's feedback on it. We will let you know when and why the content was removed. Please understand that if this situation happens that censoring you isn't our goal, we are just trying to contain the situation and we expect you to respect that.
If you are found in violation of any of these rules displayed above this, you will be asked to stop. Excessive violation of the rules may lead to a documented warning shared among our leadership team. If you make an irrational decision to carry on out of spite or lack of respect for our rules it may lead to an instant removal.
If you are consistently violating rules, warned about it, and come off uncivil about honoring our rules, then don't be surprised when you are no longer a member of the guild. If your intentions are mean spirited and harmful then you could be instantly removed from the guild as well. Be an adult and own up to your mistakes if you wish to keep your membership, and avoid this altogether. It's basically the kindergarten golden rule here. If you are being an unfit community member, my capable officer team has the discretion to remove you. They are trained and understand what's good for the community and will uphold the wholesome vision of this grand place.
Screenshots and Witnesses:
If you find that someone is in violation of the rules and a member of the leadership team is not currently present, then we encourage you to screenshot the conversation and send us the person involved's account handle as well. Witnesses for a scenario that has not been properly documented may be taken into consideration depending on their standing with the guild. We know who our trouble makers are. *wink* We need to know what happened so we can help you to the best of our ability
Roster Maintenance and Re-Invites
Due to the size of our community, unless you request to be put on leave, after two weeks of inactivity you will be removed from the in game guild. This does not bar you from re-invite obviously when you come back and become active once more. You can contact a member of the leadership team via in game, on enjin, or on the guild facebook group. However the fastest way to receive a re-invite is joining our guild discord and posting on the re-invite text channel listed at the top of the guild discord group. This channel is put there for fast feedback on your behalf and our own.
Contacts: If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact our leadership team.
